Type: Interactive Video Development
Role: Learning Designer & Developer
Tools Used: Articulate Storyline 360

Overview

This project is an interactive video quiz developed in Articulate Storyline 360, using a stock coffee video as the visual base. The aim was to experiment with video-driven learning and demonstrate how interactive video can transform a simple clip into a dynamic, engaging assessment experience.

The idea for this project was inspired by an interactive video created by Jeff Batt, and I developed this as a showcase example in my own time to explore the possibilities of integrating video, quizzes, and learner-driven engagement.

Objectives

  • Demonstrate how video and interactivity can be combined for learning.
  • Design time-based quiz questions embedded within the video flow.
  • Provide immediate feedback and results tracking to reinforce learning.
  • Showcase an example of video-enhanced learning for use in real-world training contexts.

Key Features

  • ✅ Timed quiz questions appear at set points, pausing the video until answered
  • ✅ Seamless return to video playback after each response
  • ✅ Results slide at the end with option to print or save for records
  • ✅ Branding and audio elements for a polished learner experience
  • ✅ Reusable structure adaptable for compliance, onboarding, or scenario-based training

Reflection

This project highlights how interactive video can bridge passive watching with active learning. By embedding quiz points into the video, learners are prompted to engage, recall, and reflect — ensuring the content becomes more than just background viewing.

“Interactive video turns training into a conversation with the learner, not just a broadcast.”
