Solar system

This project was created as an eLearning experience for young learners. My challenge for this project was to create an interactive and engaging experience whilst focusing on the use of beautiful shapes and animations. The use of shapes and icons in this interactive piece helps organise content into a scannable and easily digestible form. This discourages distractions and helps little learners make sense of the content quickly.

For the microlearning modules, I wanted to use a range of content formats, to display the breadth of diversity of the content. In each learning module, learners can click on planet infographics, see overviews and interact with the course through sound clips and question assessments. It’s playful, informative and fun. Short videos capture information whilst keeping learners focused and interested in learning about the solar system. Essentially, guiding the learning process instead of ‘teaching’.

The course has been developed with an adaptive and modular content approach. This adjusts to the flow of information based on previous learner interactions. The nature of the content allows learners to leave the navigation open so that they can explore and play as needed. I like to take a flexible instead of linear approach when it comes to my creativity. Offering learners a clickable experience that features diverse activities. My goal was to keep learners preoccupied and engaged as much as possible throughout the course.
